Fleetwood Mac Tickets
Fleetwood Mac were formed by Peter Green in 1967 in the wake of his departure from John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers. Joined by former bandmate Mick Fleetwood, Green attempted to secure their other former bandmate, bassist John McVie by naming the band Fleetwood Mac. Following Fleetwood Mac’s live debut at the Windsor Jazz and Blues Festival in August 1967, McVie finally agreed to join the band.
Despite being devoid of any obvious singles, the band’s self-titled debut surprisingly hit number 4 in the UK album charts while follow up Mr Wonderful saw the band expand upon the blues heavy template of its predecessor. The addition of guitarist Danny Kirwan, the band released the single ‘Albatross’ which subsequently topped European singles charts.
The band’s success - combined with his drug use - contributed to Green’s deteriorating health and he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Following Green’s departure, John McVie’s wife Christine joined the band in 1970 and the band would go on to release albums Future Games and Bare Trees. Kirwan was fired from the band after his worsening alcoholism began to effect his commitment to the band. In 1975, the band achieved mainstream success with the release of another self titled album (also known as ‘The White Album’) and classic album Rumours. These albums included new guitarist Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.
