Born Alecia Beth Moore, Pink is a riotous pop singer whose albums have sold in excess of 30 million copies worldwide. Pink’s musical career began at the age of sisteen when Choice, the band she was a member of, were signed to LaFace records. Choice never completed an album and spilt up but Pink remained on LaFace records - her name being inspired by Mr Pink, the character played by Steve Buscemi Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. With the release of her 2000 debut Can’t Take Me Home, Pink was unleashed on an unsuspecting public loved what they heard and picked up the record in droves. The album went on to sell 5 million copies worldwide, feature two top ten singles and land her an opening spot on N Sync’s U.S tour. With the help of former 4 Non Blondes singer Linda Perry, Pink took a radically different direction with the writing of her next album Missundaztood. Named after the fact Pink believed she was misunderstood by the public, the aptly named first single ‘Get the Party Stared’ was a top 5 smash hit In the U.S. The success of this and next singles ‘Just Like a Pill’ led the album a whopping selling 13 million copies worldwide.
