Aerosmith to be sued over cancelled Canadian shows

Aerosmith play the O2 Arena this week

A Canadian company is taking Aerosmith to court after the band cancelled a series of shows in the country.

Aerosmith were supposed to play five concerts across western Canada last August.

However, the cancelled after lead singer Steven Tyler fell from the stage during a performance in Sturgis, South Dakota, resulting in a shoulder injury.

Now the shows' organiser Keystone Entertainment Group Ltd is seeking $6 million (£4 million) in damages.

The firm is particularly irked that the Boston rockers made no attempt to reschedule the cancelled gigs.

According to the Toronto Sun, a statement from Keystone said: "Following the breach, Keystone approached Aerosmith in September, 2009, for purposes of negotiating alternate dates for the tour.

"To date, Keystone had received no response or acceptance from Aerosmith."

UK fans will hope no such controversies occur when the band is schedule to play this week.

Aerosmith will perform at the O2 Arena in London on June 15th.
