Alastair Cook completes second Test double century
Cricket fans with npower Test match tickets today (August 12th) saw Alastair Cook complete his second Test double century.
The batsman passed the 200-runs mark against India at Edgbaston, achieving the milestone after playing for 521 minutes and facing 378 balls, scoring 27 fours in the process.
Cook made a substantial contribution to England's dominance of the visitors in their first innings at the Birmingham ground, with the likes of Andrew Strauss, Kevin Pietersen and Eoin Morgan forming useful partnerships with the opener.
The home side are building up what looks likely to be an insurmountable lead in the third Test, after India's batsmen only managed to put 224 runs on the board.
If they complete the victory, England will be confirmed as the number one Test side in the world.
The series will conclude with a match at the Oval, which is due to get underway on August 18th and will be followed by a run of Twenty20 games and one-day internationals.
