Andy Murray only Brit to survive first round of Wimbledon
Wimbledon ticket holders can look forward to the chance of seeing Andy Murray compete after he made it through to the second round yesterday (June 22nd).
The Scott defeated Czech Jan Hajek 7-5, 6-1, 6-2 to cruise through to the next round where he will face either Jarkko Nieminen or Stefan Koubek tomorrow.
However, Murray was the only star in what was a disappointing day for home-grown competitors.
He was the only Brit to make it past the opening round after all of his countrymen and women tasted defeat at the first hurdle.
It was the worst British performance in Wimbledon's 135-year history, being the first time only one British player has made it through to the second round.

"Yeah, it's not a great start," admitted Murray. "It's not ideal."
"Obviously I'd like to see more British players playing in the tournament and more British win."
Murray will play in front of the Queen in tomorrow's match when she attends Wimbledon for the first time in 33 years.
