Arctic Monkeys tickets go on sale

Arctic Monkeys go on tour this October

Today (June 17th) saw fans rush to get their hands on Arctic Monkeys tickets as box office sales began for the band's latest UK tour.

The band are set to play nine UK dates this autumn, kicking off at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham on October 28th.

It follows the recent release of the band's fourth studio album Suck It and See, which went straight to number one in the UK charts.

And in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald this week, frontman Alex Turner revealed that his songwriting on the new record was inspired by an unlikely source - US country music legend George Jones.

"My favourite is this George Jones song, Relief is Just a Swallow Away," he told the newspaper.

"It's just a very funny song that's also very true. It made me think about the craft of songwriting and made me want to get better at it."

The Arctic Monkeys UK tour also includes dates in London, Manchester and Birmingham, before winding up at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on November 9th.
