Arlene makes return to Strictly
Arlene Phillips made her return to Strictly Come Dancing on Friday (January 15th) in front of those lucky enough to get tickets to the opening night of the show's live tour.
The star left the show in controversial fashion before the start of last year's series when she was replaced by Alesha Dixon, causing accusations of BBC ageism.
But she agreed to come back for the live tour and fellow judge Len Goodman. was clearly pleased to see her return.
"It's good to be sitting next to Arlene again. It's like reigniting an old flame... I tried that with my first wife and it didn't work," he said at last night's show.
Phillips had previously revealed that she had agreed to do the tour, despite being forced of the TV show, as a way to say thank you to the fans.
She told the Daily Mail: "I feel like I want to give something back and the tour is my way of doing that."
The tour continues with a show at the Liverpool Echo Arena tonight (January 18th) before going on to a variety of venues around the country. Tickets for many of the dates are still available on www.viagogo.co.uk.
