Aronofsky to make Metallica and Lou Reed video
People with Metallica tickets are likely to be aware the band have joined with Lou Reed to make a new album and it has now been revealed a music video for the partnership will be directed by Darren Aronofksy.
The filmmaker, who is famous for cult flicks including Requiem for a Dream and Pi, will be shooting clips of the musicians with Matthew Libatique as director of photography.
Drummer for Metallica Lars Ulrich said he feels he is "living the dream".
"As if making a record with Lou Reed is not enough, now I get to make a video with Darren Aronofsky," he said, describing the director as "among my very favourite filmmakers".
Scenes for the video will be shot in California and those hoping to get their hands on Metallica tour tickets may be pleased to hear images will be released later this month.
Fans can see the band at the Download Festival next June, where they will play The Black Album in its entirety.
