As McFly tickets go on sale, band reveals empathy for X Factor contestants
With McFly tickets going on sale today (December 1st), the band are set to be playing in front of thousands of screaming fans night after night on their upcoming arena tour.
However, it seems they will be thankful that they do not have to deal with the kind of pressure put upon the contestants of the X Factor.
The group have expressed their empathy for the stars of the ITV talent show and the intense media and public scrutiny they are placed under.
Speaking to the Press Association, the band's Tom Fletcher said: "It's tough because there are some talented people and they just become from nobody to the most famous person in the country.
"It's hard for them to deal with but it's an incredible opportunity. They have people judging if they're good enough to do our job, which is a horrible thing."
His sentiments were shared by bandmate Danny Jones, who added: "What makes it harder is you're doing your thing and singing, and you come out to a world of opinions and everyone's judging you. It must mess with your head."
McFly start a UK tour at the Trent FM Arena in Nottingham on March 12th.
