Ashes ticket holders look forward to second test
England cricket fans with Ashes tickets for the second test in Adelaide can look forward to a close encounter, it has been suggested.
Records tumbled in the second innings of the first test over the weekend as England's opening three batsmen all hit centuries before declaring on 507-1 to force a draw.
It came after Australia looked to dominate proceedings in Brisbane after bowling England out for 260.
Australia captain Ricky Ponting admitted that his side had let the chance of victory slip away but warned the second test could be a close affair as the hosts were not firing on all cylinders during the first test.
"We probably haven't played our best the last couple of days of the game. The wicket did change dramatically and the last three days of the game have been dominated by the bat," he commented.
Ponting claimed that Australia now know a bit more about England's top order and said the Adelaide pitch will provide a good surface for both teams' batsmen.
"We should know a lot about their top three batsmen. We've got some work to do, Adelaide is a very good batting wicket," he added.
