Aston says he's 'never met' reported love interest
JLS star Aston Merrygold has denied reports that he is dating model Sophie Houghton and confirmed his single status.
It had been rumoured in the press that Merrygold was in a relationship with Ms Houghton, a former girlfriend of the Manchester Utd player Federico Macheda.
But talking to MTV News, the singer has claimed that he has never even met the former beauty queen.
"I have never met this girl in my life," he told the news provider. "I swear to you. My dad text me and I was like 'huh?'."
However, bandmate Marvin Humes does appear to be off the market after striking up a relationship with the Saturdays singer Rochelle Wiseman.
"To clear it up - we went on a date, we've been on a couple of dates now. She's been to see the show. She's a great girl and we take one day at a time. It's all good," he revealed.
JLS will be playing a charity gig for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall on March 28th.
