BBC3 plans wheelchair version of Strictly Come Dancing
BBC3 has announced its forthcoming season of programmes with one of the notable highlights being a version of Strictly Come Dancing for people in wheelchairs.
Called Dancing on Wheels, the format will involve celebrities being paired with wheelchair users in a dance competition.
The celebrities, yet to be revealed, will learn about the art of wheelchair dancing and the winning couple will go on to UK at the Wheelchair Dance Sport European Championships.
Perhaps the channel is looking to cash in on the success of Strictly which garnered viewing figures of around eleven million for the 2009 series final, won by sports presenter Chris Hollins.
Other intriguing new shows announced by the broadcaster include Wags in South Africa, which sees footballers' partners look at the harsher side to life in the country ahead of the World Cup.
Viewers can also look forward to Lindsay Lohan in India, in which the US actress seeks a solution to child trafficking.
Strictly Come Dancing begins a live tour this year which starts at Manchester's MEN Arena on January 15th.
