Black Keys 'not influenced by Led Zeppelin'

The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach has refuted the suggestion that the band's track Little Black Submarine was inspired by Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven.

In an interview with the New York Post, the singer-guitarist, who will be on stage for the Black Keys tour around the UK next month, said any similarities between the two tracks are coincidental.

"It's accidental if anything. I've never even owned a Led Zeppelin album," he remarked.

Black Keys tickets are currently on sale for a tour taking place in early February, which will see the two-piece band - also featuring drummer Pat Carney - play three shows at London's Alexandra Palace on February 9th-11th.

The band's latest album El Camino came out late last year and Auerbach said they approach video shoots for their singles in the same way as they do recording.

"We don't want to look so serious … we go in and have fun," he said.

The Black Keys' upcoming UK tour also consists of two shows in Manchester at the Apollo, as well as gigs at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange and Nottingham's Capital FM Arena.
