Bon Jovi: 'Writing a song is close to immortality'
Jon Bon Jovi has suggested that he does not stay in the music business for fame.
Speaking in an interview with the Telegraph, the Bon Jovi front-man suggested that he stays in the game because it is a form of immortality.
He said: "I don't do this for the money, or the fame, or the glory. I do it because when you write a song, it's the closest thing to immortality that you are ever going to taste."
In an attack on ITV talent show X Factor he said that he had "no vested interest in the contestants" and "didn't know who they were".
The band appeared on the show's rock week last weekend.
Currently Bon Jovi are promoting their record The Circle, which will be performed at their O2 residency set to take place next year.
The band are due to play a number of dates at the famous London venue, starting on June 7th and winding up on June 23rd.
