Bopara hopes to score big against India to secure place in ODIs

Bopara wants to beat India.

English cricketer Ravi Bopara intends to score big points against India during the One Day Internationals (ODIs).

The inconsistent batsman hopes that a strong performance during the tournament will secure him a place in the English cricket team for future matches.

Injury to Eion Morgan and Kevin Pietersen's rest meant that the 26-year-old was drafted into the ODI side on Tuesday September 6th.

He said: "It's a great chance to make it into the first XI and then perform and cement a place in the side.

"It's a great chance, with guys resting and a few injuries about. There is a great opportunity to cement my place."

Bopara added that England's performance during the ODIs has been "unbelievable".

People with ODI tickets may be lucky enough to see Bopara in action and secure his place in Alastair Cook's team.

Ian Bell who is currently batting in position four has indicated that he would like to keep this place.
