Button eyeing back-to-back titles
Jenson Button has set his sites on becoming the first British Formula One driver to win back-to-back world titles.
The McLaren ace stormed to victory last season with Brawn GP and is now feeling confident after winning last weekend's Australian Grand Prix.
"It would be an incredible achievement to win back-to-back titles with two different teams," he said.
"As a champion, you want to retain your title, only 30 per cent of drivers do it. But it's never easy, especially fighting against these exceptional drivers."
Button would be the first driver for 53 years to hold onto the world championship racing for a different team, with the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio the last man to do so.
Meanwhile, Button's teammate Lewis Hamilton has criticised his team's race strategy after a disappointing sixth place finish in Melbourne.
Hamilton looked on course to finish high up the rankings until a decision to bring him in for a tyre change backfired.
"I was in P3 and everyone else did not stop. I had already stopped once and my tyres were fine but I was pulled in for a second stop," he said.
The next stop for this season's Formula One championship is the Malaysian Grand Prix in Kuala Lumpur on April 4th.
