Byrne: We have nothing to fear from Ireland
Wales full back Lee Byrne has claimed that his side have a great chance of beating Ireland in this weekend's Six Nations match.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the 29-year-old said Wales are confident of taking second place in the tournament after defeat to England and France ruled out a championship win.
To do this though the reds must defeat Ireland on home territory, ending their bid for a Triple Crown.
"We've got nothing to fear there," Byrne told the news provider. "The one thing about us is our fitness - we have some strong in the last 20 minutes of every match we have played."
"All we need to do now is start a bit stronger. Ireland are a very good side. But then again so are we."
He added that it had been a strange tournament so far for the Welsh, claiming they should have won the two matches they lost, while being lucky to comeback to beat Scotland in a 31-24 thriller.
Wales face Ireland at Croke Park this Saturday March 13th.
