Calvin Harris urges musicians to help stop riots
Calvin Harris, who will be playing for fans with Creamfields tickets this month, has urged popular musicians to make an attempt to stop the riots and looting that have been taking place across England over the past few days.
Following mass disorder and violence in London, Birmingham, Manchester and other cities, Harris added a number of posts to his Twitter feed, one of which described the events as "heartbreaking".
He urged the government to do more and also said that the music industry could help by acting as a positive influence on young people.
"A lot of these kids have role models in music and a lot of these role models are staying quiet," Harris tweeted.
"They need to speak … up and help stop this."
The DJ and producer is one of many famous figures who have taken to Twitter to condemn the riots, with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Alan Sugar and Trevor Nelson doing the same.
Harris will join Diplo, Tiesto and other acts on the Clublife stage on the second night of Creamfields 2011.
