Carl Barat: It's like the last six years never happened
As they prepare for their comeback performance at Reading and Leeds Festivals this weekend, Libertines frontman Carl Barat has claimed that the chemistry between the band is "electric".
The Libertines split in 2007 following difficulties in the once close relationship between Barat and fellow frontman Pete Doherty.
However, they have since patched up their difference and recently played an intimate warm-up gig before their Reading and Leeds show.
Speaking to NME, Barat revealed it felt as if the past six years since the break up had never happened.
"It's been six years of stasis, but then you get back in the room and it's like the six years haven't happened," he told the news provider.
"You remember all these different facets of your friends, the good and the bad, but I've mainly forgotten the good. It's pretty electric the chemistry it hasn't really changed a bit. It's exciting."
The Leeds and Reading Festivals take place between August 27th and 29th.
