Coldplay tour of Australia rumoured for this year
A rumour that a Coldplay tour of Australia is in the pipeline has been started on a radio show in the country.
On his Hot Breakfast morning show, DJ for Triple M Melbourne Eddie McGuire said he had heard from a reliable source the group would be going Down Under in 2012.
"I was sitting next to (promoter) Michael Gudinski last night and he said Coldplay are coming out later this year," he stated.
Although this tour has not been confirmed, the band have revealed they will be playing two exclusive shows in Sydney this month.
The gigs are scheduled for February 16th and 17th and are for 2Day FM and Sunrise respectively.
Coldplay tickets for the first show cannot be bought and instead fans will need to try and win them from sponsor Huawei Mobile.
To do this, music lovers need to go to the telecommunications company's Facebook page and follow the firm's wall posts for a chance to enter the competition.
While 30 lucky fans will be invited to see the band play live, others will be able to watch the performance as a webcast.
The second gig at the studios of broadcaster Sunrise Seven can be viewed on the television and is also sponsored by the mobile company.
