Craig Revel Horwood promises return of Strictly

Strictly judge says BBC "would be mad" to axe the show

Strictly Come Dancing Judge Craig Revel Horwood has claimed the BBC "would be mad" to axe the show.

He was speaking out after criticism in the press over the sacking of former judge Arlene Phillips, allegedly for being too old.

It has also been reported that Strictly was soundly beaten in the ratings by the rival ITV show the X Factor.

But Revel Horwood believes that there is no chance of BBC bosses giving Strictly the axe.

He told Click Liverpool: "It's absolutely coming back. It's such a hugely popular show. With over ten million viewers the BBC would be mad to cancel it. What would replace it?"

However, he also revealed he hopes Arlene Phillips will return to the show.

"I would love to see Arlene back. I really missed her this series," he said.

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing will not have to wait until the next series to catch the stars of the show as they will be taking part in the Strictly Come Dancing live tour, which starts at Manchester's MEN Arena on January 15th.
