David Haye expecting 'army of Brits' to come to Germany
Fans with David Haye tickets are expected to flood the German city of Hamburg when the WBA heavyweight champion takes on Wladimir Klitschko.
The winner of the fight will unify the Haye’s title with Klitschko's IBF and WBO belts, making it one of the biggest boxing events in years.
It was finally confirmed this month that the fight would be held in Imtech Arena in Hamburg, a city in which Klitschko enjoys strong support having once been based there.
However, Haye is not worried about a lack of support as he believes British fans will be making the journey to support him in large numbers.
"Hamburg is an accessible city for a lot of British fans, so I'm expecting a huge turn-out for what is undoubtedly the biggest boxing event of the year," he told the Press Association.
"We're going to have an army of Brits invading Germany on July 2nd and I can't wait to sample the atmosphere. I think every city in mainland Europe and beyond wanted to stage this fight, and that shows just what an appealing event it is."
