Depeche Mode rock Albert Hall
Veteran British rockers Depeche Mode wowed ticket holders at the Royal Albert Hall last night (February 17th) as they played a gig for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity.
And to cap off the occasion, the audience were treated to the site of former Depeche Mode keyboard player Alan Wilder appearing on stage fwith the band.
Wilder, who left Depeche Mode in 1995, accompanied Martin Gore on piano for Somebody.
According to the Evening Standard, the band showed no sign of ageing despite having been around the music scene for decades.
Reviewer John Aizlewood said: "Dave Gahan, all slicked back hair, tattoos and neck bling remains the consummate rock star and when he topped his evening by going topless during a magnificent Never Let Me Down women old enough to know much better had a collective attack of the vapours."
The Royal Albert Hall will be hosting a number of other big-name acts over the coming days, such as Noel Gallagher and the Arctic Monkeys, also playing on behalf of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Meanwhile, Depeche Mode will be performing at the O2 Arena in London on February 20th.
