Elbow trying new methods for next album
Music lovers with Reading festival tickets could be looking forward to seeing Elbow, who have been busy on the festival circuit this year but are also thinking about their next album.
Lead singer Guy Garvey revealed that the band are adopting some new methods for their new record.
Elbow have already recorded five albums, with the latest, Build a Rocket Boys!, released just a few months ago.
Garvey told the Daily Mirror: "Rich [drummer Richard Jupp] went into the studio and recorded several different drum patterns for me.
"I'll go away next week and try and write lyrics for them. We've never worked this way before, but we'll see what happens."
The group, who won the 2008 Mercury Music Prize for The Seldom Seen Kid, celebrated their 20th anniversary last weekend with an acclaimed performance at Glastonbury.
At the 2011 Reading festival, Elbow will be playing alongside the likes of Muse, the Strokes and Pulp.
