England Ashes team to undergo boot camp training
The England side that faces Australia in this year's Ashes will face a gruelling boot camp in preparation, it has been reported.
According to the Mirror, the players will be sent on a rigorous four-day training programme in October as they bid to retain the precious urn they won in 2009.
Although exact details have not been revealed, the newspaper says that within the dressing room an army-style boot camp is thought to be the most likely scenario.
It echoes similar preparations made by Australia the last time England toured the country for the 2006/07 Ashes, a series the Aussies won 5-0.
That training programme was designed by former Australia head coach John Buchanan, who recently agreed to undertake a consultancy role with the England and Wales Cricket Board.
England fans will see if the boot camp pays off when the first Test of the 2010/11 Ashes gets underway in Brisbane on November 25th.
