England complete 4-0 rout of India
Cricket fans with one-day internationals and Twenty20 tickets will be eager to see an impressive England side who yesterday (August 22nd) completed a 4-0 Test series triumph over India.
Andrew Strauss led his men to victory by an innings and eight runs at the Oval, with another outstanding display from both batsmen and bowlers sealing the win.
Ian Bell and Kevin Pietersen shone after the home side won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 235 and 175 runs respectively as England put 591 on the board before declaring.
India replied with 300 runs in their first innings and scored another 283 after being forced to follow on - not enough to make England bat again.
Rahul Dravid was among the few bright sparks for the visitors, with 146 not out in the first innings, while Sachin Tendulkar fell nine runs short of his 100th century in international cricket.
Speaking to BBC Radio's Test Match Special after the victory, Strauss said: "We had to work pretty hard for that.
"When you enforce the follow-on, you're always asking a lot of the bowlers especially on a flat wicket. They stuck at it. To bowl India out for 300 and 283 on that wicket is quite a performance."
The teams will meet again in a Twenty20 match at Old Trafford on August 31st, before playing a series of five one-day internationals starting in Durham on September 3rd.
