England intensify training sessions
In preparation for next month's rugby internationals and the beginning of the World Cup in September, the England squad have started intense training following weeks of focusing on strength and fitness, Dylan Hartley has revealed.
Speaking to RFUtv, the Northampton Saints hooker said the players are now taking part in full-contact sessions to get ready for their forthcoming challenges.
The 25-year-old highlighted the importance of adding more physicality in training, however difficult it may be.
"It was a bit of a shock to the system - less emphasis on fitness and weights and more emphasis on bone-on-bone crunching tackles and getting your head in rucks where most people wouldn't put them," he said.
"But it was much needed. The first day is always the hardest and that's done now."
Fans can order rugby international tickets to see Hartley and co in action when they take on Wales at Twickenham on August 6th and at the Millennium Stadium on August 13th.
Other World Cup warm-ups taking place next month will see Wales play Argentina and Scotland take on Ireland and Italy.
