England prepare for one-day series with win over Ireland
England prepared for their forthcoming series of Twenty20 matches and one-day internationals with a win over Ireland yesterday (August 25th).
Eoin Morgan led a side featuring several changes from the recent Test series against India, adding 59 runs to England's total of 201 in the RSA Challenge at Clontarf.
Jonathan Trott also chipped in with 69, although debutant batsmen James Taylor and Ben Stokes did not fare so well, only scoring four between them.
Bad weather meant that the visitors' total was revised down to 129 using the Duckworth-Lewis method, but the Irish could only reach 117-8.
Jade Dernbach was the pick of England's bowlers, taking three wickets, while Steven Finn accounted for two of the home side's batsmen.
Cricket fans with one-day internationals tickets will be hoping that Morgan, Trott and their teammates can maintain their winning form when they take on India in a series of five matches starting in Durham on September 3rd.
