England victory "first step" on Six Nations journey, says coach
Winning Saturday's (February 4th) England Scotland rugby match was just "the first step" of England's Six Nations journey.
These are the words of the team's interim head coach Stuart Lancaster, who said he was pleased with what was a tough first game of the championships.
"We won in a very difficult place and it was a great effort by everyone," he was quoted as saying on the tournament's official website.
"This was the first step on the journey we are taking," he stated.
Lancaster added that although the team "did not get everything right", they showed the right spirit and "courage" on the field that he is looking for.
England won 13 - 6 against Scotland, while an Ireland Wales rugby match in Dublin yesterday saw Wales take victory with the final score at 21 - 23.
Scotland meet Wales on February 12th and Ireland on March 10th.
