Fans wont be short changed says Dame Julie Andrews
Dame Julie Andrews has told fans they will not be disappointed when she makes her long-awaited return to the UK stage next year.
The sound of music star said there will be a lot for the audience to enjoy, besides her own singing performance.
She told the Lady magazine: "There will be five guests and a full symphony orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, with 82 musicians.
"So I don't think the audience is going to be short changed in any way by me not singing full blast the Sound Of Music or something like that, which I won't be doing."
The 74-year-old singer and actress has rarely sung since an operation to remove non-cancerous growths damaged her vocal cords in 1997.
But after adapting her singing style, she has said she feels confident enough return to the stage and will now make her first UK performance for 30 years in London next year.
The one-off show will take place at the O2 Arena on May 8th.
