Fernando Alonso: We deserve a good race

Fernadon Alonso has his sights set on this weekend's German Grand Prix

Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has claimed his team deserves to do well at this weekend's German Grand Prix.

The double world champion has fallen back to fifth in the drivers' championship standings and is 47 points adrift of leader Lewis Hamilton.

Ferrari have struggled of late, picking up just four points from the last two races.

But the Spaniard is confident the stats do not portray the team's true ability and that there is enough of the season left to turn things around, starting at Hockenheim.

"After two bad races people are even more motivated than ever before because they feel we finally deserve a good race," said Alonso.

"We have seen this year if you have two or three bad races, or two or three good races, it can change the picture of the championship completely."

The German Grand Prix at Hockenheim takes place this Sunday, July 25th, with qualifying getting underway the day before.
