Fernando Alonso unconcerned by Ferrari's engine troubles
Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has reassured his fans with tickets to the Spanish Grand Prix that he will be driving a competitive car.
Alonso will be returning to Spain for his home grand prix on May 9th and will be hoping for a good performance in front of his supporters.
But the double world champion has suffered in recent weeks with engine problems which caused him to retire from the Malaysian Grand Prix and miss part of practice last time out in China.
Despite this, the 28-year-old seems relaxed, telling the official Ferrari website: "The problems with the engines? I'm not worried at all.
"I know that the team is working hard to fix them and I'm convinced that I'll have a reliable and strong engine available."
Alonso added that he is satisfied with his start of the season, which currently sees him in third place in the drivers' championship.
Reigning world champion Jenson Button is currently leading the race for the 2011 world championship on 60 points, 11 ahead of Alonso.
