Ferrari boss: We need to focus on qualifying
Stefano Domenicali, team principal of Ferrari, has said that the team needs to focus on improving qualifying positions if driver Fernando Alonso is to win this year's Formula One world championship.
The Spaniard is currently 14 points behind the Red Bull driver Mark Webber in the drivers' standings and level on points with Webber's teammate Sebastian Vettel with three races remaining.
Domenicali believes Alonso can match the Red Bulls once the race is underway, but that it is very difficult to overtake them if Alonso starts behind his two rivals on the grid.
"In race pace we were not too bad, but the problem is that if you start behind it is very difficult with this kind of performance to get ahead," he said.
"I think that they [Red Bull] are doing a great job in preparation and qualifying but, as we have seen, if we do a better job than them in qualifying then we are able to beat them. Otherwise it is tough, but we will see in the next races - everything is possible."
The next race of the 2010 Formula One season is the Korean Grand Prix on October 24th.
