First part of Green Day album trilogy out now
The first instalment of Green Day's album trilogy, ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!, was released today (September 24th).
¡Uno! will be followed up by the remaining parts of the trilogy on November 12th and January 14th 2013 respectively.
The pop-punk stars are likely to be looking ahead to their mammoth tour of the US and Canada scheduled for the end of this year and early 2013, playing a total of 28 dates.
UK fans may have to wait for the band's show at the Emirates Stadium in London before they can hear the new album live, due to take place on June 1st in front of a crowd of up to 60,000.
The band are also rumoured to play at Download festival shortly after, alongside confirmed acts Iron Maiden and Rammstein.
Formed in 1987 under the name of Sweet Children, the trio of fifteen-year-olds released their first Green Day album in the early 1990s after being signed to Lookout! Records.
The band were at their most popular following the their 2004 record American Idiot, which topped the charts and took them on a 150-date tour throughout 2005.
Tickets for the stadium show will go on sale this Friday (September 28th) at 09:00 BST.
