Flood warns England not to get carried away after autumn internationals win
England's Toby Flood has said the side must not get carried away by their recent win over Australia in the autumn internationals.
The hosts beat the Wallabies 35-18 at Twickenham on Saturday (November 13th), recording their highest ever number of points against Australia and equalling their biggest ever winning margin.
It came after a disappointing 16-26 defeat against New Zealand.
However, Flood told the Guardian: "We cannot get carried away because it is a long way down if you do. We have to follow this up against Samoa."
His sentiments were echoed by fellow England player Mike Tindall, who said: "It is easy to say it was our best display for a while, but the challenge is to get better.
"There will be bumps along the way. This has to be our base performance."
England play Samoa on November 20th at Twickenham, followed by a tough match against South Africa at the same ground a week later.
