Former McLaren F1 man to join Ferrari
Formula One team Ferrari have announced that they have enlisted the services of former McLaren employee Pat Fry as they attempt to close the gap on the British team.
Pat Fry will join the Scuderia as their new assistant technical director.
He brings with him 18-years of valuable knowledge gained from working with the Woking-based outfit.
The famous Italian manufacturer will be hoping he can use some of that to increase their competitiveness on the track this season.
Ferrari are currently third in the constructors' championship after struggling to find form this season.
They are 54 points adrift of McLaren, who are first, and behind another British-based team - Red Bull.
However, Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has claimed the team are still in with a chance ahead of this weekend's European Grand Prix in Valencia.
"[T]he European GP is simply the ninth round of the championship, not a last-ditch effort for Ferrari, which I heard some people saying," he commented.
