Fuller: 'Cowell owes success to Will'
TV bad guy Simon Cowell owes his success to Will Young.
That is according to record boss Simon Fuller, who told the Daily Star that it was Will's success that began the reality TV singing contest deluge.
Speaking to the tabloid at the launch of Will's greatest hits album, Fuller said: "He was before the X Factor and before American Idol and it was because of him that all these other shows got made."
Unable to resist a dig at Cowell, Fuller added: "You've got to put the success of these shows down to Will. I was always a fan of his - unlike Simon … I wanted him to win."
Will is undertaking a UK tour later this month, with dates including the Manchester Apollo on November 15th and 16th and London's Hammersmith Apollo on November 20th and 21st.
He will also play dates in Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, Swindon and Ipswich.
