Grammy win 'feels really great' for Green Day
Green Day were thrilled to take home a Grammy award at this year's ceremony on Sunday (January 31st).
The punk trio won the coveted Best Rock Album prize for their record 21st Century Breakdown.
Upon claiming the award, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong declared the moment as the "sweetest time".
"I have to say that this is the sweetest time ... I think just the pressure coming off American Idiot.
"Then putting out 21st Century Breakdown and getting recognised for it and all the success that it's had, it feels really great."
Other memorable moments at the 52nd annual awards show included a duet between Lady Gaga and Sir Elton John and Michael Jackson's children, Prince and Paris, accepting a lifetime achievement award on behalf of their late father.
The biggest winner of the night was Beyonce, who set a record for the most wins by a female artist by taking home six Grammys.
Green Day will play Wembley Stadium on June 19th 2010.
