Green Day: Rock Band better than Beatles version
Green Day may never be as highly rated as the Beatles in terms of musical accomplishments, but they can at least take solace in being better at selling video games.
The punk trio are to feature in their own version of a Rock Band game, the Beatles being the only other group to have done so.
And MTV Games boss Scott Guthrie believes that Green Day: Rock Band will be more popular than the one that featured the Fab Four.
He told MCV: "We were pleased with the performance of Beatles: Rock Band but we were expecting higher sales.
"Our core audience of 16 to 34-year-old males are much more familiar with Green Day music than the Beatles."
He added that, having been around for 21 years, Green Day have a much wider audience than perhaps some people realise.
Green Day play three UK gigs this year, including one at Wembley Stadium on June 19th.
