Green Day name Milton Keynes gig as one of their best ever

Green Day play Wembley Stadium in June

Green Day have highlighted their 2005 gig in Milton Keynes as one of their all time best.

The group selected the venue as one of three featured in the new Green Day: Rock Band video game.

Other venues featured in the game, which was released this week, are the Fox Theatre in their hometown of Oakland, California, and a punk rock club.

Bassist Mike Dirnt revealed that one of the reasons for the inclusion of Milton Keynes was because it was the stadium where they filmed a live DVD as part of the band's American Idiot tour.

"The Milton Keynes show was quite momentous for us. It actually was the concert that was filmed for Bullet In A Bible," bassist Mike Dirnt said, referring to the DVD.

Green Day are only the second band to have a Rock Band game dedicated to them, the other being the Beatles.

They return to the UK this summer where they play Wembley Stadium on June 19th.
