Green Day sign radio royalties declaration

Green Day are among a number of prominent musicians who have signed a statement encouraging the US Congress to pass a radio royalty bill.
The controversial Performance Rights Act asks that radio stations pay royalties to artists each time they play their songs.
Others to put their names to the declaration include the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Black Eyed Peas.
Signed during this week's Grammy Awards, the statement reads: "We support the Performance Rights Act because it is fair to radio and fair to artists.
"We encourage the radio industry to work with the music community and Congress to pass The Performance Rights Act.
"Together, we can create a true partnership that benefits radio, artists and musicians, and fans."
Green day were among the winners at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards on Sunday January 31st. They picked up the coveted Best Rock Album prize for their record 21st Century Breakdown.
The punk-rock trio come to the UK this summer, playing Wembley Stadium on June 19th.
