Green Day to re-record 21 Guns with cast of musical
A new version of Green Day's 21 Guns will be released after the band announced they are to re-record the song with the cast of American Idiot – the musical.
In a statement released today (November 20th), the band's record label confirmed the track will be ready by the end of November and be available through digital download.
The musical version of American Idiot, Green Day's 2004 multi-platinum album, ran in the US from September until November 15th of this year. It follows the same story line, and features all the songs, from the album.
It was also revealed that the band will make a video for the new version featuring the show's cast.
21 Guns was the second single taken from Green Day's eighth album 21st Century Breakdown. The album has gone gold in the US and UK, reaching number one in the charts in both countries.
Green Day are coming to the UK in the summer where they will play two shows; at Lancashire County Cricket Club on June 16th and Wembley Stadium on the 19th.
