Green Day's American Idiot musical to tour UK and Ireland
Green Day's American Idiot show is set to tour the UK and Ireland later in the year.
The musical, based on songs from Green Day's last two albums, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown, will visit eight cities on the tour.
Starting with six dates in Southampton from October 9th, the musical will also stop off in Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester and Birmingham.
Green Day's American Idiot UK tour will finish with eight shows at London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo from December 4th to 9th.
Telling the story of three friends who choose between pursuing their dreams or settling down in suburbia, it explores the meanings of a post 9/11 world and had a successful run at the St James Theatre on Broadway throughout 2010 and 2011.
Described as a "thrilling and emotionally charged" production by the New York Times, the musical features the songs Holiday, Wake Me Up When September Ends, 21 Guns, and American Idiot.
