Guns N Roses performance not cancelled, says Reading and Leeds organisers
The organisers of the Reading and Leeds Festival have dismissed speculation that Guns N Roses have pulled out of the event.
It follows a recent posting on frontman Axl Rose's Twitter account that claimed all Guns N Roses tour dates have been cancelled.
"All upcoming Guns N Roses dates are officially cancelled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds," the message said.
However, Festival Republic, the organisers of Reading and Leeds, have issued a statement informing ticket holders that the message was a hoax by someone who had hacked into Rose's Twitter account.
"Festival Republic are informed by GNR management that Guns N Roses have not cancelled their performances at Reading and Leeds and that Axl Rose's Twitter account was hacked into and all claims of dates being cancelled are unfounded," said the company.
The Reading and Leeds Festivals take place between August 27th and 29th; other bands due to headline include Arcade Fire and Blink 182.
