Hamilton calls for improvements for Australian Grand Prix
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has called for a big push from his team to improve before the next Formula One race in Australia.
The former world champion was pleased to have finished in third place at the season opener in Bahrain but said that changes to the car were needed to close the gap on some of the other teams.
"It's going to be difficult for us to close the performance gap immediately, but I think I'll go back to the factory and give them the biggest push," he said.
"I know they're all pushing flat-out as it is, but we need to get some upgrades, and we need to bring as many of them forward as we possibly can."
His sentiments were echoed by teammate Jenson Button, who claimed the team is looking to get more downforce and speed from the car.
The second race of the 2010 Formula One calendar will be the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne which takes place on March 28th.
