Hamilton upbeat ahead of Chinese Grand Prix
Ticket holders to next week's Chinese Formula One Grand Prix can look forward to seeing an upbeat Lewis Hamilton take to the track.
The McLaren driver has revealed he is happy with how the season is progressing, despite so far managing just one podium finish.
"I came away from the first three races this year knowing that very little was lost and that everything is still to play for. Could we have scored more points? Almost certainly, but we were reliable when it mattered and we've shown we have the pace to fight at the front," he said.
The 2008 world champion currently lies sixth in the tightly packed drivers standings on 31 points, eight off the current leader Felipe Massa.
Hamilton said it was "encouraging" to be so close to the top drivers at this stage of the season, especially given McLaren's lack of pace in the early races of 2009's championship.
The Shanghai Grand Prix in China gets underway on April 18th, with qualifying taking place the day before.
