India beat Leicestershire in warm-up game
India yesterday (August 29th) prepared for their forthcoming Twenty20 match against England with a win over Leicestershire at Grace Road.
The visitors were put in to bat and scored 161 for five in 20 overs, while the home side could only reply with 146 for seven.
One of the top players for India was opening batsman Parthiv Patel, who made 40 runs off 31 balls, meaning he could be in contention for a place in the side playing England tomorrow.
Vinay Kumar accounted for three of Leicestershire's batsmen, while spin bowler Amit Mishra took two wickets for 19 runs in four overs.
Andrew McDonald and Abdul Razzaq scored more than 80 runs between them for the home team, but it was not enough to achieve the target set by India.
Fans can book Twenty20 tickets to see if the tourists can record another victory at Old Trafford tomorrow before starting a series of one-day internationals in Durham on September 3rd.
