Indian Premier League starts next week

Indian Premier League (IPL) tickets may still be available for cricket fans wishing to grab last-minute passes for the event, which will start on Wednesday (April 4th).

The competition begins with a match between the Mumbai Indians and last year's champions the Chennai Super Kings.

Next in the IPL 2012 fixtures is a game between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Delhi Daredevils on April 5th.

On April 6th, two games will be played between the Mumbai Indians and the Pune Warriors and the Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab.

The 76 matches of the IPL will end on May 27th, with the final held at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

IPL 2012 tickets are now on sale, including passes to the opening night on April 3rd.

This event will see Katy Perry take the stage and chairman of the series Rajeev Shukla said he was excited about her appearance.

"A performer of her calibre makes the occasion even more special for the IPL Family - players, organisers and fans," he stated.
