Ireland 'hoping to improve' ahead of France clash
Ireland may have run out 29-11 victors over Italy, but they will be hoping to put on a much improved show for those with tickets to their remaining Six Nations games.
Number eight Jamie Heaslip conceded that last year's Grand Slam winners got off to a poor start at Croke Park, and admitted that progress must be made ahead of next week's crunch game with France.
Those with tickets for Ireland's trip to the Stade de France on February 13th will be able to watch what is being billed as one of the stand-out games of the tournament.
Indeed, France are ranked by many as favourites to wrestle the Six Nations crown away from Ireland this year.
Heaslip highlighted the importance for Ireland of raising their game: "We were all over the place at points in the second half and lost our shape a bit.
"It was a first day out in a few weeks for some of the boys. It was good to get the win and get the ball rolling and I'm sure we'll be in good shape for next week."
Last year Ireland were able to secure a 30-21 victory against France at Croke Park thanks to tries from Heaslip, Brian O'Driscoll and Gordon D'Arcy but they will not enjoy home field advantage this year.
