JLS inspired by Julie Andrews for new single
It seems that Julie Andrews is still having an effect on up-and-coming musicians, with JLS the latest group to feel her influence.
According to the Sun, their latest track The Club is Alive is actually based on The Hills are Alive, which Andrews first sang in the Sound of Music in 1965.
The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic first appeared in the musical on which the wildly successful film was based in 1959.
A source told the Sun: "They've worked hard on the song and are really proud of it. They know it will surprise a lot of people but think it's a risk well worth taking.
"JLS have taken one of the most well-known pieces of music of the last century and stamped their mark on it."
However, the insider added that the X Factor finalists have done plenty to stamp their own unique mark on the song, adding that it is a "radical reinterpretation".
The Club is Alive is due to be released in July.
Those with tickets to see JLS at Capital FM's Summertime Ball on June 6th will likely be able to hear the new single early.
